We had a wonderful Christmas party on Dec 17. Over a delicious spread of appetizers and treats, we fellowshipped with one another. We also supported a community in Costa Rica by donating clothing for young children. Finally, we heard from Christy Gambrell, 9th grade Bible teacher at Chattanooga Christian, about how to celebrate this Advent season while lamenting the darkness that is part of our already/not yet reality.

If you missed joining us, please make plans to join us for a future Women’s Ministry event, which you can find on our Women’s Ministry page.

Christmas is a season of hope, but it’s also a season that lends itself to fully acknowledging the darkness of the world. There’s something about the quiet and “insignificant” nature in which Jesus came at Christmas that always feels like the “not yet” part of the already/not yet. He is a light in the darkness, but the light comes so slowly at first. And there’s something about that that seems to really acknowledge the brokenness and darkness of the world – and invites us to as well.

Join Christy Gambrell, 9th grade Bible teacher at Chattanooga Christian, as we explore this theme of light in the darkness through the women in Jesus’ geneology.
