All the women’s bible studies came together to have a wonderful time during a Christmas party. We ate delicious food, played Bingo, and listened to a talk by Laura. She talked about how it is possible that an unwed teenager from an obscure country of modest means could respond to the news that she was pregnant with such praise and thanksgiving, and how that should shape our response to trials. She also pointed to the role the Psalms played in her life, and how that should shape the way we approach God’s Word. And she connected it all to a Charlie Brown Christmas.
If you haven’t been able to join us for bible study, we do hope you’ll be able to come in the future! We will be starting Proverbs the first week in February. For upcoming bible studies, please visit our bible study page.
How is it possible that an unwed teenager from an obscure country of modest means could respond to the news that she was pregnant with such praise and thanksgiving? What can we learn from her when we face trials? What role did the Psalms play in her life, and how should that shape the way we approach God’s Word? And how does Mary relate to Charlie Brown?
