SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY VISION
John 9:1-3 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him."
- We will endeavor to equip the whole church body to fully include everyone regardless of ability, to promote the advancement of the Kingdom. We have and will continue to provide training when necessary for our leaders to have the tools and the skills to include everyone with or with a disability.
- Hixson Presbyterian Church is to be a safe place for families affected by special needs. We will provide emotional, spiritual, and physical support to those who are suffering from various special needs.
- We will make every effort to share and present the gospel and the love of Jesus Christ to any person in a way that they can understand. When necessary, we will use appropriate Sunday School formats and including, but not limited to using multi-sensory activities and lessons.
- We will never turn anyone away based on a disability. We will gather gather the information and resources so that we have as much knowledge about various special needs. Our goal is to intentionally build relationships and the trust of the entire family affected by special needs, both inside and outside of the church.
