HPC On-Site Mask Policy

  • We are guided by the biblical principles of protecting the vulnerable and loving our neighbors. With humility, we want to consider others more important than ourselves (Phil. 2:3). We do not intend to imply that this is the only way to accomplish these biblical goals, just the way we have chosen for HPC. We are also complying with the recommendations made in the “Guidance for Gathering Together in Houses of Worship” published by the Tennessee Governor’s Office.
  • Masks are generally required whenever inside the church building, specifically including worship services.  This requirement does not apply to a speaker at the podium who is well-distanced from any other person.
  • Masks are generally not required when outdoors on church property.  However, if a group of people gather and are unable to maintain adequate distance among themselves, then they are expected to wear masks.  Adequate distance depends on the circumstances, but it is generally at least six feet.
  • Small Groups and other groups can be formed on the predetermined basis that masks will either be required, or not required, during the meeting. Individuals may then sign up for these groups based on their personal preference and comfort level.
  • Attendees will be reminded to don masks before leaving the group and reentering common areas of the building.
