Worship Resources for February 9

This Sunday we will be reminded of the love of Christ as we examine John 15. We would encourage you to take some time before you arrive to prepare your hearts for worship. Use the song links to prepare your heart and the hearts of your family for a few of the songs we'll be singing. The readings match what you'll hear on Sunday. If you forget to grab a bulletin, click on that link to download a digital copy.

RESOURCES FOR SUNDAY: February 9, 2014

Psalm 113

Praise the LORD!
Praise, O servants of the LORD,
praise the name of the LORD!

Blessed be the name of the LORD
from this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the LORD is to be praised!

The LORD is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens!
Who is like the LORD our God,
   who is seated on high,
      who looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the LORD!

New City Catechism Question 6: How can we glorify God?

Answer: We glorify God by enjoying him, loving him, trusting him, and by obeying his will, commands, and law.
*Psalm 16:11; Psalm 19:7-8 - "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore... The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;”

*this passage is not the same as the NCC passage, but better reflects our theme of bringing God glory as His creatures
